SCREENING SCHOLARSHIP MEDIA FESTIVAL
The Screening Scholarship Media Festival (SSMF) provides a creative, collaborative space to explore the affordances and challenges of multimodal strategies in research, and to interrogate their social implications. SSMF is a hybrid between a traditional academic conference and a film/media festival that fosters the intersection of art and science across disciplines since 2013.
UPDATE ON SSMF 2020 & COVID-19
Unfortunately, SSMF 2020 has been canceled in light of concerns about the current COVID-19 outbreak and in accordance with the policies of the University of Pennsylvania.
We know that many people have spent a great deal of time preparing for this festival, and that this cancellation is a deep disappointment -- as it is for the SSMF planning team. Please know that our priority is the health and well-being of everyone involved in SSMF.
We are hoping to reschedule some of the keynote of events from SSMF 2020 as stand-alone CAMRA events virtually later this spring or in-person next fall, so look out for news about that. And the Screening Scholarship Media Festival will be back strong as ever in Spring 2021!
